Frequently Asked Questions

Are AP score estimates official?

No. Official AP results are determined by College Board. This tool estimates a composite from the published section structure and maps it to an illustrative range.

What AP Chemistry structure is used?

For the 2026 configuration, College Board describes 60 multiple-choice questions (50%) and 7 free-response questions totaling 46 points (50%). Select another year only when a verified configuration exists.

Will a high composite definitely be a 5?

No. Do not treat an estimate as a guaranteed 5. Annual equating can move the boundary between scores.
